Pop-up windows are small windows that appear on top or behind the web page that you are reading on. They can be evoked automatically by the codes inside the web page or by you when clicking an hyperlink. The pop-up windows have become inscreasingly popular for displaying advertisements. These kind of pop-up advertisements are evoked through the codes within the web page. During the early days of the internet, many web sites are using pop-up advertisements to appear on their web pages in multitudes. Many internet users have become irate because of too many pop-up advertisements appearing in front of the web pages that they are reading. Many web sites still continued to utilize them inspite of the many complaints about multiple pop-up advertisements that keeps on appearing in the screen. Because of this, software developers created programs that you can install on the computer to block the pop-up windows. And as time goes by, browser developers as well have begun adding pop-up blockers built-in to the browser.
By default, the Opera browser is set to block unwanted pop-ups, which could be usually the advertisements. You can set the Opera browser to block all pop-ups instead if in case there are still pop-up advertisements that are pestering you.
1. Click the OPERA button at the very top left corner of the Opera window, choose SETTINGS, then click PREFERENCES....
2. Under the "General" tab, click the pull down menu box for "Pop-ups" category, then choose BLOCK ALL POP-UPS option.
3. Click OK button.
You might as well do it by clicking the OPERA button at the very top left corner of the Opera window, choose SETTINGS, choose QUICK PREFERENCES, then click BLOCK ALL POP-UPS option.
