Always Show A System Tray Icon In Windows XP

The System Tray which is also called as Taskbar Notification Area of the Windows operating system is the area on the right end of the Windows Taskbar if your Windows Taskbar is situated on the default bottom location or if you moved it to the top location. The System Tray consists of the time and the little icons of the programs installed on your computer, and these icons are called System Tray Icons. By default, the System Tray Icons are set to be hidden when inactive. You can set the behavior of the System Tray Icons to always show up, or always to be hidden, or just to hide automatically if the icons were not been clicked for a certain period of time which is the default setting. Just in case you want a certain icon to always show up in the System Tray so that it will always show up there every time you turn on the computer, just like the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon that looks like a green arrow pointing downward to the left and on top of a gadget, this can easily be done from the Windows Taskbar.

1. Right-click on an empty area of the Windows Taskbar and choose PROPERTIES option.

2. Click CUSTOMIZE button under the "Notification area" category.

3. Click the name of the icon that you want to always show up, which in this case, the SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE to highlight it.

4. Click the arrow down button of the pull down menu and choose ALWAYS SHOW option.

5. Click OK button.

The "Safely Remove Hardware" icon will now always show up in the Windows Taskbar.
