Web Page Garbled Or No Graphics

On the Firefox browser, you can set it to show web pages with no style. This means that the Firefox browser will load web pages with text only without the images or any graphical presentations. The web pages will load faster because of this but they will look like skeletal. Because of this, the web page will not properly represent itself the way it was designed and it will look very bland. As you know, if it is already skeletal, then it just follows that it has no life. But this of course has its purpose on Internet web pages, else, it does not make sense anymore putting this feature on the Firefox browser.

The very purpose of this is to load the web pages faster. This feature of the browser can be an advantage if in case you are still using dial-up connection because the browser will not have to go through downloading the images and decorations of the web pages but only the basic text that you need to read.

However, not all web pages can be affected by this setting because there are web pages that are so designed that bypasses some browser settings for them to appear correctly.

So, if you do not know about this feature of the Firefox browser and you suddenly see the web pages that you are accessing are garbled and does not have pictures, this means you may have inadvertently changed the browser setting to load web pages with no style and or someone in the family who is also using your computer changed it.

Here are the steps to set the Firefox 3.5.2 for Windows to load web pages in Basic Page Style if in case your web pages are showing up in skeletal format.

1. Double-click the FIREFOX icon on the desktop to open it. Or, click the START button, choose ALL PROGRAMS, choose MOZILLA FIREFOX, then click MOZILLA FIREFOX.

2. Click the VIEW menu on the Firefox toolbar across the top and chose PAGE STYLE, then choose BASIC PAGE STYLE.

You will now see the web pages loading will all their pictures and decorations.
