The Mozilla Firefox software is a free and open-source web browser developed by Mozilla Foundation initially released on September 23, 2002 and became one of the most used browsers on computing devices like desktop computers and mobile gadgets. The Mozilla Firefox browser is fast and secure accompanied with many features such as tab browsing, bookmarks, speed dial, and screen capture to name a few. This browser can also extend its capability by installing extensions that can protect password, download videos, block annoying advertisements, and so on. Many years ago, software does not have a feature to reset them to their default settings that makes troubleshooting tedious and difficult. Nowadays, most software if not all, already incorporates the option to reset them to their default settings so that the troubleshooting is faster and less painful. The standard release of the Mozilla Firefox browser is the stable release version that already went through thorough testing. However, since there is no system that is perfect, the Mozilla Firefox software has the option to reset it to the default for troubleshooting purposes. It is recommended to reset the browser if you encounter issues such as freezing (hanging), crashing, and unable to access websites. This process will remove the add-ons and customizations that were personally added and reset the browser settings to their defaults. The saved bookmarks, forms, and passwords will not be deleted.
Here are the steps to reset/refresh the Mozilla Firefox browser version 76 to default, the steps are just the same or similar to the older or newer versions.
1. Click the MENU icon that looks like three horizontal lines on top of each other located at the top right corner of the Mozilla Firefox window, and then click the HELP option.

2. Click the TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION option.

3. Click the REFRESH FIREFOX... button.

4. Click the REFRESH FIREFOX button.

5. Click the FINISH button.

6. Click the LET'S GO! button.

A folder named Old Firefox Data will appear on the Desktop view that can be deleted anytime since it does not contain usable data on the user's end.
