How would you like turning off the pop-up description of items every time you point your mouse on them. These are those yellow pop-up balloons that keeps on popping all the time on almost everything that the mouse pointer touches on. Just like when I hover my mouse pointer on the MY COMPUTER icon on the desktop view, there is a light yellow colored box that is popping up saying "Shows the disk drives and hardware connected to this computer".
This is also the same when you point on the other items on the desktop view. And some icons will show where they are located, or when they were created, etc. This is also happening when you hover your mouse pointer on the items listed on the START menu, as well as on the files and folders on your computer.
Well, it is not a nuisance as far as I can tell even for an advanced user. And I do not see any advantage as well with turning it off. In fact, it can be helpful sometimes though so that you will know if what is the icon for or where it is located. But for the sake of knowing how to disable it, here are the steps that you can try to disable the pop-up descriptions of desktop items.
1. Right-click on the MY COMPUTER icon on the desktop view and choose EXPLORE.
2. Click on the TOOLS menu on the Windows Explorer toolbar and choose FOLDER OPTIONS....
3. Click the VIEW tab on the Folder Options window.
4. Scroll down the "Advanced settings:" box and remove the check in the little box that says "Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items".
5. Click OK button.
I am not finding the Explore while clicking right button on my computer.
