Setting a default browser on Windows 10 is convenient because it will automatically open web links in the preferred browser of your choice. If you have a favorite browser for whatever reason, setting the Windows 10 operating system to automatically open web links and any related files in it improves efficiency and consistency. Your default browser of choice also usually holds your favorites list, your stored passwords, extensions, settings, and other stuff that makes browsing seamless. You can also work faster on your favorite browser because you already know all the buttons to click which makes everything a muscle memory already. Setting a default browser aligned with your device's performance needs ensures smoother operation when opening multiple links.

Here are the steps to set a default browser on Windows 10 operating system.

1. Right-click on the START button that is located on the bottom left corner of the screen, then click on SETTINGS option.


2. Click the APPS category.


3. Click the DEFAULT APPS category on the left pane.


4. Scroll down the Default apps page until you see the "Web browser" category.


5. Click the icon of the current browser, which in this case, click the MICROSOFT EDGE icon.


6. Click the browser that you want to be as the default, which in this case, click the FIREFOX app.


7. Click the red X button that is located at the top right corner of the Settings window to close it.
